Running from the 4th of June to the 13th of July is my second solo exhibition 'Inherited Memories'. The gallery is Ripley Arts Centre in Bromley.
The exhibition addresses the notion of inheriting memories of a place you have not visited from your ancestors, diaspora and colonialism, and looks at the role of the British Empire in the above.
The 18 A2 dibond wall prints are from my recent photographic expedition to Malaysia, but there are also 2 photo books at the gallery, 1 of them filled with photos from my father's journey from Malaysia not long after it ceased being British Malaya 60 years ago. His photos were taken as he traveled across 3 continents by bicycle, before settling in England. Having been a part of the British Army when in Malaya.
